Green - Backyard Harvest

Tiny Veggies

I've always wanted a garden. When I was younger I planted some carrots in our flowerbed but then struggled to wait for them to mature before devouring the miniature vegetables. My grandparents have a huge garden at their house in Michigan that I was always drawn to as a child; eating peas off the vine, fresh picked dill, and carrots with some dirt on them. For the last couple of years my parents and I have helped prepare the soil and plant their garden spring. So when I moved back to Alaska last summer I got the idea in my head that I would plant a garden and grow some of my own food and this spring I finally did it.

Next year it'll be twice the size.
